My lovely bridal clients have been showing strong interest in the 1930s satin gowns in my collection, so far this year.
I have quite a few real 30s vintage wedding dresses still here and I am very much looking forward to seeing how my clients look in their chosen dresses later in the year.
Here are a few 30s satin gowns which I have had in my showroom shown so beautifully on former brides above and below, plus lower down the page shown on my lovely model Georgia.
I do think it is a wonderful decade -they epitomise all that is best about vintage, subtly sensual and very glamorous.
The main features of the 30s gowns are the high necklines and stunning sleeves, but also the way the bias cutting flatters the figure so well.
The soft shades of the satin are also very flattering – the warm glowing off whites and creamy ivories used to be called “Candlelight”.
